ABOUT US
Protek was founded in 1963 in Randolph, Massachusetts. During the course
of these last forty years Protek has grown to provide almost all office
services and office refurbishment throughout an entire office, as evidenced
by the many and wide range of services as outlined in this site.
From time to time we are called upon to provide additional services
not outlined in our normal operational procedures. However, for the
benefit of our customers and clients if we are able to provide these
additional services at the time when completing the contracted for refurbishing
services it is always our pleasure to provide these additional services
even though they are not listed in our normal operating procedures.
An area of concern by many corporate clients is interference in the
daily business routine providing any, refurbishing services. As a direct
result of those concerns Protek has been providing these refurbishment
services over a course of a weekend so as not to interfere in the daily
business routine and yet allow plenty of time for the drying of these
many services.
On a separate page at this site we list additional service items that
can be incorporated in one refurbishment job.
Any and all of these services are normally performed on-site so as to
be cost effective with the exception of reupholstering of upholstered
furniture and refinishing of woods.
Keeping in mind that there is a major difference betiveen refurbishing
of furniture and refinishing and reupholstering. The process of refurbishing
takes into consideration the nicks, scratches, chips and the natural
drying out of wood and attempts to fill in and repair as needed and
provide an oil treatment so as to protect and preserve the wood and
maintain its suppleness. The refinishing of wood allows us to remove
the piece from the office environment and bring it to our shop. At that
point we would completely strip, sand, refinish and return the furniture
to the office. Needless to say the cost associated with refurbishing
as compared to refinishing is quite different and thus refurbishment
always proves to be more cost effective in both the short and long run.
Protek prides itself on quality supervision and has a ratio of 4 people
to every I supervisor for on-site work. It is because of this quality
control that has allowed Protek the opportunity to provide large amounts
of furniture to be serviced in the course of one day or one weekend.
Thereby eliminating a long, drawn out processes that could takes weeks
or even months to complete, causing much disturbance and chaos and costs
throughout the office environment.
