Team LORI is named for Spencer Jawitz’s Mother, Lori Jawitz, who has been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease (PD) for close to a decade. Mrs. Jawitz was an actress, model, and a recording artist in her formative years. Always full of life and energy, Lori was at forefront of any event, production, or family function. Unfortunately, because PD is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement, she has been unable to live the life she has in the past.

Since the launch of Moving Day® in 2011, the National Parkinson Foundation has hosted this annual fundraising walk event. It is a fun and inspiring fundraiser that unites families, friends and communities, both large and small, in the fight against PD. This celebration of movement will feature a family-friendly walk course, a kids’ area, a caregivers’ relaxation tent and a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc., all proven to help manage PD symptoms.
